Nutcracker Studio Rehearsals 2008
Nutcracker rehearsals are mandatory. If a dancer misses more than 2 rehearsals, DVDA will
consider moving that dancer out of her role. When it is absolutely necessary to miss a rehearsal,
a written note must be handed in and the dancer must write her name as absent on the calendar so that
we do not look for her. It is also the dancers responsibility to learn any choreography she may have
missed. When a dancer misses rehearsal, it affects all of her fellow dancers because timing and
spacing are off and we invariably spend time figuring out where the missing person belongs. Please be
respectful of your fellow dancers.
We look forward to another productive, rewarding and fun Nutcracker season!
DVDA is pleased to announce that we are, once again, adding a third performance of the
Nutcracker. On Friday December 5th from 10 11:15 AM, we will be dancing an abbreviated Nutcracker
for area schools. If anyone has a connection with any elementary, pre-schools, or senior homes to
bring us a larger audience, please see Lisa or Amanda. The performance will include Party and Battle
Scenes, Snow and variations to make the performance length 1 hour and 15 minutes. You will need to
take the morning off from school.
**If rehearsals cut into your class time, please make up class another day of the week.
Ballet 5s can make up in a Ballet 4 class or the Saturday 5X 7 class, or try a jazz class! DVDA
apologizes for any inconvenience.
Please check the Nutcracker Rehearsal Schedule regularly, as it is
subject to change based on what is needed.
