DVDA’S SPRING PERFORMANCE 2026– Rehearsal Schedule Alice in Wonderland & ACT II

All Stage rehearsals are mandatory.  The dancers need to be familiar with the spacing on stage and where they dance with their classmates.  If you miss a theater rehearsal, you may forfeit your chance to be in the performance.

Thursday, May 28th at Calvary Church 

Full Dress rehearsal (Professional portraits will be taken during this rehearsal in the lobby) Hair, costumes, and make-up as for performance.  We will have a professional photographer shoot the dress rehearsal. All B6 and up should arrive by 4:00 to warm up.  All Pre-Ballet through Ballet 5X should arrive in costume directly into the auditorium at the times listed below.

 

4:00 – 4:30 - Creative Movement

 

4:15 – 7:30 – Alice –We will run the Saturday cast first, then run it again with the Friday cast. All Ballet 6 & Up should be warmed and ready to dance in costume at 4:30.

• All B5X Harlequins arrive and be ready to dance by 4:40. Stay for the second run.

• Julia’s B1 Cats & Kelsey’s B2 Clocks arrive in costume at 4:15. They dance toward the very beginning.

• Roma’s PB1 Flowers, Roma’s PB2 Birds, Saturday Cast (Lisa’s) B3 Caterpillars, and all Shrinking Alice’s arrive in costume into the auditorium at 4:30.

• Jess’s Saturday PB2 Fireflies. Your child is in the middle section of Alice, please arrive in costume into auditorium at 4:45.

• Kate’s Wed B1 Cupcakes. Your child is in the second half of Alice. Please arrive into auditorium at 5:00.

• B4 Spades & B4X Flamingos are in the second half of Alice.  Please arrive at 5:00. Dancers may leave after getting notes from Ms. Kelsey and Ms. Tara. No need to stay for the second run-through.

• Ballet 5 Heart Cards are in the perform toward the end of Alice. Please arrive by 5:10. Stay for notes & second run through.

 

Friday Cast (dress rehearsal) arrival times

• Debbie’s  B2 Cats & Ann’s B2 Clocks arrive in costume at 6:05. They dance toward the beginning of the second run-through.

• Jess’s PB1 Flowers, Kat’s PB1 Birds, Friday Cast B3 Caterpillars, arrive in costume into auditorium at 6:15.

• Roma’s PB2 Fireflies. Your child is in the middle section of Alice. Please arrive at the auditorium at 6:35.

• Roma’s B1 Cupcakes. Your child is in the second half of Alice. Please arrive at the auditorium at 6:50.

 

 

 

7:30 – 9:15 Act II (Second half of the program).

Please see below for the time you need to arrive at the theater.  We will run Sophia’s HH 7-9, Kate’s Jazz Funk, Karen’s Contemp 1, Charlotte’s Tap 2 & Beginner Jazz first. Next, we will run the Full Friday performance in the order the dances appear on the program. Time permitting, we may run some of the upper-level pieces again after we’ve completed one full run-through.

PERFORMANCES

Friday, May 29th at 7:00 –*Levels Pre-ballet – 5X and second half Dancers must arrive at the theatre at least 30 minutes before curtain time (6:30 pm)

*Levels 6/7 must arrive at the theatre at least 11/4 hours before curtain time (5:45 pm) to be ready for 6:00 class

 

Saturday, May 30th at 1:30 – *Levels Pre-ballet – 5X and second half Dancers must arrive at the theatre at least 30 minutes before curtain time (1:00 pm) Creative Movement dancers should arrive at show time and sit in the audience with their families. They will come to the dressing room at the start of intermission to change into costume. Costumes should not be worn in the auditorium.

 *Levels 6/7 must arrive at the theatre at least 11/4 hours before curtain time (12:15 pm) to be ready for 12:30 class

 

**Please note that we will do our very best to stay on schedule, but the nature of these rehearsals can be unpredictable.  Please be patient.

***There are many areas where we need volunteers to help with the performances.  Please check the boards to see where you can help. The children need the participation of their parents in order to make this the best possible experience for everyone.  Thank You!!
